Why we use your data

  • To handle your booking request and check vehicle availability.
  • To contact you about your booking (phone, WhatsApp or email).
  • To prepare and record the rental: contract, handover and return, deposit and balance.
  • To check your driving licence and identity before handover, if you choose to upload them.
  • To answer the messages you send us.
  • To send you offers and news — only if you gave separate, optional consent.

What data we collect

  • Name, email, phone, optional WhatsApp number and preferred language.
  • Trip details: dates, times, pick-up and return places, optional map pin, and your flight number and time when the airport is involved.
  • The notes you write to our team.
  • Copies of your ID and driving licence, only if you upload them.
  • Payment records (amount, date, method, reference). No card details are collected on this website.
  • Your marketing choice and when you made it.

Who receives it

  • Authorised ATLANTIC DRIVE team members only.
  • Lovable, which hosts this website and its database.
  • OpenStreetMap and the Photon address search (Komoot), which receive the text you type in the map's address search and display the map.
  • Google (Gmail) when you email us, and WhatsApp (Meta) when you message us there.
  • Public authorities when the law requires it, for example inspection of rental records by the DGTR.
  • Some of these providers may process data outside Cape Verde.

How we protect it

ID and licence copies are stored privately with no public link. Only authorised team members can open them, and each opening is recorded. We never ask you to send them by email or WhatsApp. Connections to this website are encrypted (HTTPS).

How long we keep it

We keep each type of data only as long as its purpose requires. The periods below are being confirmed with our local advisers; each one will appear here once validated.

Your rights

Under the applicable law you can ask to access your data, correct it, have it erased, or object to its use — within the limits of the law, for example records we must keep for legal, tax or dispute reasons. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time.

How to make a request

Send us your request by email or WhatsApp, with your booking reference if you have one. We may need to confirm it is you; please do not send ID copies for this — we will tell you how. You can also contact the CNPD (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados).
